On their Knees: When Top Bloggers Met with President Bush, and I Refused to Go
Only I refused. The rest took the knee.
In 2007, President Bush invited the top “MilBloggers” to a personal meeting.
I had more reach and readership than all of them combined.
According to Los Angeles Times, my website was at about number 80 in the world out of 22 million or so. (I don’t recall. But that’s about right).
I did it all with a camera, a laptop, and reader support. Back when Bruce Willis contacted me about a movie. I stayed in the wars and did not do the Hollywood thing.
And so, I was by far the Top Milblogger. I did more time in real combat in Iraq and Afghanistan than any journalist or writer or blogger. According to New York Times. New York Times published something like that. I don’t recall. But when New York Times published that I had already done more than anyone else, I was just limbering up.
I refused to meet with President Bush. You did not know this. Very few people do. Maybe two or three. But notice all the top bloggers, and only one is missing. And at this time, when they met, I was in combat in Iraq.
Now — Bill Roggio and the rest — who supported these failed policies.
It’s time for a Roll Call. Who got it right. And who got on their knees. Roggio is a knees boy. Everyone in this room got on their knees.
