Last Two Books: Song of the Dodo, and VACCINES
Last night I finished SONG OF THE DODO by David Quammen. Excellent book on biogeography. Highly recommend. Excellent research. Careful thinking. Rings true.
Started another book on vaccines. Just finished before getting through first chapter. Contains gems with advice such as ‘Google it.’ Apparently the author is more studied on medicine than on information ecosystems, information operations, and even straight up information warfare.
Google brings value. And severe danger. Any reference to Google or Wikipedia as guide or authority is akin to suggesting someone get a rabies vaccination in the eyeball. My reference with the quote that includes Vitamin C has nothing per se to do with Vitamin C, but about using Google as arbiter or guide.
Use Google enough and you will see clear evidence of bias. For instance, openly fomenting race hatred and distorted views in United States. They don’t even attempt to hide it. Google is a house of smoke and terribly distorted windows and mirrors.
Bottom line: VACCINES did no make the cut.
Am still in Vilnius, Lithuania. Many hours of interesting meetings. The information ecosystem here is vastly different from that in Asia where it’s largely China-centric with local flavors. Here is Russia-centric with local flavors.
Globally, most of the world information campaigns appear to be China-centric, but the closer you get to Russia, or specific Russian interests, the stronger the influence.
