Midnight in Mexico

Midnight — these Hondurans said they just walked from Monterey — that’s about 250 miles. Cannot get help for baby. No food, no nothing. I got nothing with me but this phone and a light.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott is making a big splash about stopping the invasion. It’s all a lie. The invasion continues unabated — and appears to be increasing.
This strip of land on the Mexican side is nice because it’s a small park lighted all night. And so aliens pass through here by the battalion while Mexican families come with their children to the river. Most of the Mexicans have gone home because it’s midnight. (Now 0100 — took an hour to get internet). And so what is left are Venezuelans, Hondurans, and others trying to cross, coyotes, some dangerous looking guys, and me.
I met about twenty Venezuelans who were trying to cross but were afraid of the river. One group of Venezuelans included five young children, six baby-making-age-women, eight military aged men. They had come through Darien Gap and said it was very difficult.
Large and small groups are crossing 24/7. The immigration facility in Eagle Pass is above capacity tonight with about 2,700 aliens, according to a Border Patrol agent.
